The Institute of Electrical Engineering's day out

Over the past couple of days FIN hosted a number of students from MCAST's Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineering. The aim of these seminars is to give the future engineers and technicians a key insight into the technologies and products which they will be using in their careers.

A number of different topics were discussed including basic pneumatics, basic hydraulics and, of course, electrical engineering. Mr. Kevin Bonanno led the seminars and included numerous functioning demonstration components for the students to witness first hand the flexibility and functionality of Delta and Pizzato technological products, amongst others.

Students saw how an HMI can be interfaced to a temperature controller to control the heating and cooling of substances, such as water, without the need of a PLC or other ancilliary devices. They also saw servo drives in operation in an automated machine FIN is currently building. There was special interest in FIN's own icontrol and icontrol-a which were recently launched as kits for professionals and students who wish to improve their programming skills in both PLCs and HMIs. More information on the icontrol can be found on http://goo.gl/IS7nB8.

FIN company director Mr. Sergio Zammit thanked the students for attending and their interest in these seminars. Almost all of FIN's team are qualified from MCAST or other institutions and therefore we understand the needs, trouble and opportunities which students face and we are proud to have the capacity to be able to be their partners of choice. FIN also offers exclusive discounts to students, particularly does doing course projects. For more information you can contact us on education@finmalta.eu or through facebook
